Politico – Four years ago, in the midst of a divisive U.S. presidential election, we led a bipartisan task force taking a renewed and comprehensive look at the Middle East. In addition to the region’s many problems, we identified “green shoots” of promise: a surge in entrepreneurial activity, especially among young people and women, a more active civil society, and some forward-thinking leaders beginning to envision a more dynamic and politically open future.
