ABC News -Coronavirus has now killed more than 1 million people worldwide. Over 35.8 million people across the globe have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The United States is the worst-affected country, with more than 7.5 million diagnosed cases and at least 210,918 deaths.

More than 190 vaccine candidates for COVID-19 are being tracked by the World Health Organization.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a key member of the White House coronavirus task force, offered the grim prediction while speaking at a virtual event hosted by American University on Tuesday.
