NATIVE NEWS ONLINE – All 392,832 Cherokee Nation citizens will receive a $2,000 lump sum Covid relief individual assistance payment. The assistance payments will be available from a total of $1,8 billion provided to the Cherokee Nation from the American Rescue Plan that was signed into law by President Biden in March. The legislation to approve the individual assistance payments was signed into law by Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. on Thursday. The Cherokee people are still hurting from the impact of Covid-19, health care and the economy.
