. COVID Cases Surpass 37,000 on Navajo Nation « JO LEE MAGAZINE

NATIVE NEWS ONLINE – With 80 new COVID-19 cases reported on the Navajo Nation on Wednesday, the nation’s largest reservation surpassed 37,000 cases since COVID cases were first reported on March 17, 2020. The Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 80 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no recent deaths. The total number of deaths remains 1,487. “We are in this together and we need more of our people to get vaccinated to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez said. Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
